Major city-centre regeneration keeps construction-site security in demand. The 141-hectare Birmingham Curzon HS2 scheme (around 4,000 new homes and 600,000 m² of commercial space), the £1.9 billion, 17-hectare Smithfield quarter, Paradise and Arena Central are all in progress. Birmingham City Council has been inspecting 18m+ buildings with unsafe cladding since 2018, with remediation funded through the Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme.
