The brief

What the client needed

Sony required front of house security for a large corporate environment. As one of the most recognisable brands in the world, only experienced staff trained to the highest possible standard would be suitable for such an undertaking.

Our response

What we did

Ashridge Group have supported Sony since 2017 where we manage the front of house services including Receptionists and Security guards in order to facilitate a reliable and professional security operation. An around the clock service was implemented to ensure safety, including a security element at the front desk during the day and out of hours. As representatives of the Sony brand and the first members of staff that most visitors would engage with, it was ensured that staff were excellent communicators and understood the importance of conveying flawless presentation and etiquette.

Outcome

What changed

Sony was delighted with the response and the smooth nature of the security services provided. Ashridge Group received outstanding feedback that led to an internal company award presented to the members of staff who had facilitated the project.

Questions about this engagement

Since 2017. The contract covers front of house security and reception, delivered around the clock. Length of tenure is the part worth noting: officers who have been on a site for years know the building, the people and the routine, which is what front of house work depends on and what a high-turnover contract cannot deliver.

It combines the security role with the reception one — access control and site security alongside greeting visitors, handling arrivals and being the first person anyone meets. It asks for a different profile from a static guarding post, because the officer is simultaneously a security presence and the face of the client’s building.

Yes. The team earned an internal Sony award, judged within Sony rather than by us or by the security industry. Recognition from inside a client’s own organisation is the measure we pay most attention to, because it reflects how the people who work in the building every day actually rate the service.
