Volunteering with Purpose: Giving Our People Time to Make a Difference

At Ashridge Group supporting communities has always been about more than corporate responsibility. It is part of who we are as a business and a reflection of the values that guide us every day.

We recognise that many of our employees are already making a difference outside of work through charities, community groups, sports clubs, schools, and local initiatives. To support this commitment, every member of our team is given two paid volunteering days each year to dedicate to a charity or cause that is close to their heart.

Rather than directing people towards a single organisation, we encourage them to choose causes that are personally meaningful. Whether that means supporting local food banks, mentoring young people, helping environmental projects, assisting community groups, or fundraising for national charities, we believe that personal connections create the greatest impact.

Supporting Causes That Matter

Volunteering provides benefits that extend far beyond the organisations receiving support. It creates opportunities for our people to develop new skills, build stronger connections within their communities, and gain fresh perspectives that they bring back into the workplace.

Research consistently shows that employee volunteering can strengthen engagement, wellbeing, and teamwork while creating meaningful social value for local communities.

For us, however, the motivation is simple: giving people the time and opportunity to support causes they care about is the right thing to do.

The Role of the Ashridge Group Foundation

Our commitment to giving back is also reflected through the Ashridge Group Foundation, which was established to support charities and community groups across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and beyond. The Foundation provides practical assistance, training opportunities, knowledge sharing, and financial support to organisations making a positive difference in their communities.

The Foundation was created with the belief that businesses have an important role to play in strengthening the communities in which they operate. By combining financial support with the expertise and enthusiasm of our people, we aim to create lasting and meaningful impact.

Creating a Culture of Community

As a family-run business, people have always been at the heart of everything we do. Supporting charitable organisations, community projects, and volunteering initiatives is a natural extension of that philosophy.

We are incredibly proud of the colleagues who use their volunteering days to support important causes each year. Their dedication, compassion, and willingness to give back embody the values that define Ashridge Group and demonstrate how small actions, when multiplied across a team, can create significant change.

As we continue to grow, our commitment to supporting communities through volunteering and the work of the Ashridge Group Foundation remains as strong as ever.

Together, we can continue to make a positive difference where it matters most.
